Pulmonologist – New Locums Opportunity to Practice in Guam

Conditions Treated: Asthma Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease Emphysema Pneumonia and other Pulmonary infections Bronchiectasis Interstitial lung disease lung Cancer Chronic Cough and work-related respiratory issues Summary of Job Duties and Tasks: • Responsible for evaluating and treating pulmonary conditions on an inpatient and outpatient basis. • Provides direct care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and the performance of medical procedures (within the scope of practice as a pulmonologist). • Conducts daily hospital rounds on all patients referred to the service. • Examines patients, obtains medical histories, performs and interprets diagnostic tests, and documents all services in patient’s medical record. • Coordinates with hospital medical practitioners, departments, and administration to ensure high quality and effective patient care. • Communicates, consults, and collaborates with all physicians, the interdisciplinary team, and other healthcare personnel reviewing patients’ progress and variances, and ensures a timely hospital discharge. • Converses daily with families, referring physicians, other specialists, administration, and hospital departments in the care and treatment of patients referred to the service. • Provides distinctive, personalized care and services by listening, anticipating, and responding to the needs of internal staff and referring physicians/specialists. • Exceeds patient expectations by providing empathetic bedside manners. • Educates patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection by providing materials and resources to patients and their families. • Ensures that proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, and complete, and compliant with office, hospital, and government entities. • Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing, coding, and CPT code assignment. • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with hospital departments and hospital administration, promoting teamwork and camaraderie. • Acts in a positive and professional manner, complying with hospital policies, procedures, and federal and state laws This hospital is deeply passionate about serving this important community need, and we also love our beautiful island lifestyle!
