Our recruiters are experts in the locum tenens industry and we strive to create the best match possible between providers and physicians. Our recruiters thoroughly investigate physician interests and backgrounds to ensure your facility gets the physician(s) you need to meet your staffing needs
The first key to this is our credentialing. We meticulously screen our candidates and research their backgrounds. Each and every physician is extensively interviewed, and at least five of his or her references are contacted. References are asked a series of questions about the candidate's clinical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Written letters of reference are also gathered along with a Certificate of Good Standing from their medical registrar. The ultimate decision to accept or decline a candidate is entirely up to you

When you partner with Global Medical, you get ongoing quality assurance that begins with our initial contact and continues beyond the final day of a given assignment. From the moment a GMS doctor arrives at your practice, one of our professional recruiters speaks to both your designated representative and the locum physician we placed to determine how the match is progressing and what can be done to improve it. Contact is made every few days during the first week of a new assignment and weekly thereafter.
Highly skilled doctors at a reasonable cost
When you partner with GMS, you conserve your own resources. Our experience with varying medical markets combined with years of orchestrating complicated overseas assignments enables us to guide physicians through each and every step of Medical Registration, Immigration, Sponsorship and Work Visa processes quickly and efficiently. We arrange schedules and travel and ensure that your facility’s staffing needs are met within an appropriate timeframe.
Additionally, we are available to you 24/7 throughout this process and no payment is required until the doctor you have selected actually arrives at your location. Because you do not need to advertise, recruit, negotiate fees or credential individual doctors, you save time and money.
Compensation for locum physicians
Our experience has taught us that there is no single compensation or fee method that suits all of our clients. Some facilities simply want to pay a flat fee based on the physician’s proposed salary. Other facilities want to recruit doctors into "private practice" settings where there is no fixed salary. And other locations prefer to pay us for our physician’s services rather than place him or her on their payroll. Therefore, we structure our recruiting fee to match your needs – and ensure fairness to all parties.
Benefits for locum physicians
In addition to a physician’s fee, we typically ask that you provide an automobile, suitable housing and utilities (except long distance telephone usage). During the assignment the automobile should be available for the doctor's business and personal use. For longer term assignments (six months in duration or longer) we also ask that you provide the return economy airfare for the physician and his or her spouse.
These benefits, which vary depending on the "standard" for your area (measured against what other physicians typically receive if they work in your community), are often unnecessary if your facility is located in "paradise" and only requires a doctor to see interesting cases between 10 AM and 3 PM. However, if your facility is located outside of paradise and you need a doctor to work full time and share on-call responsibilities, added benefits are more likely to entice a suitable candidate more quickly.

If, during the first week of a locum tenens placement, you are not completely satisfied with the doctor or our service – and GMS is unable to remedy the problem – we will remove the doctor and you will not be charged for any fees associated with that doctor.
