Australia's TropFest arrives in New Zealand this year

For the first time ever, Sydney's TropFest will make its way to New Zealand. At one of the most desirable venues in the world, 16 short film finalists will play outdoors for thousands of kiwi residents, vacationers and locum tenens on assignment in the country.Founder John Polson started the Tropicana Short Film Festival as a casual screening for cast, crew and friends in Sydney. Roughly 200 enthusiasts showed up to the event, which inspired Polson to expand the show in years to come. Now, the Australian spectacle attracts over 150,000 people in one night.
A free festival, the celebration is a complete aesthetic experience, with live music and entertainment, public catering and bars, red carpet arrivals and of course, the much anticipated film screenings and awards ceremony. On the night of the show, high-profile judges select the final winner of the entire competition. Participants may have to try hard not to be intimidated by the all-star cast - as past judges have included Nicole Kidman, Rose Byrne, Russell Crowe, Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor and Keanu Reeves.
The Bowl of Brooklands will hold the New Zealand screening and welcome individuals and celebrity guests to a night of film, music and entertainment.
